The warm and discreet hospitality is complemented by Skywalker wines, as well as local, seasonal cuisine prepared by the estate’s private chefs. Your visit can be customized to personal preference.
THE EXPERIENCE
In 2017, Château Margüi was added to the Skywalker Retreats portfolio. George Lucas painstakingly set the scene, transporting you back to the simple and elegant Provençal lifestyle. We invite fellow travel, wine and culture enthusiasts as well as business colleagues to enjoy France in a private & exclusive setting.
HISTORY
Château Margüi is a hidden gem, nestled in the hills of the Var region in Provence and
surrounded by vineyards and magnificent forest with century old trees and conifers. The historic Domain which dates back to the Roman era originally produced wheat, olive oil, wine, fruits and vegetables thanks to the irrigation from the property’s natural springs. Over the years as the Estate developed, other buildings were added around the Bastide including a Chapel and an Observatory.
THE VENUE
We welcome private guests with their families and friends, or like-minded business guests to our exclusive Bastide for a retreat “Par excellence”.
A focal point of the property, the Bastide stands high atop a stone staircase, serving as a noble reminder of its storied past. From here a magnificent panoramic view of the green hills towards Aix can be enjoyed.
Immersed in lush green gardens, the Main House features guest suites and bedrooms, a comfortable library with a vast selection of multilingual titles covering History, Arts and Cinema.
Wine and dine on one of our terraces or in the gracious dining room with a large fireplace enjoying family-style meals or a French gourmet menu prepared by our Estate chefs. Feel at home as you relish the relaxing atmosphere, elegant architecture and bucolic natural beauty of Château Margüi.
